In its initial month, the Foundation introduced a Bartan Bhandaar, or crockery bank, as part of its initiatives. The bank commenced with a collection of 150 sets of high-quality steel thalis (plates with five partitions), spoons, and glasses, along with serving bowls, serving spoons, steel buckets for langar, and a tea-canter. These items are lent free of charge to individuals and organizations for their functions, bhandaaras, and gatherings, with a nominal security deposit kept on a refundable basis for the borrowed crockery. This approach aims to significantly reduce the consumption of disposable items and alleviate the burden on landfill sites caused by plastic and thermocol disposables. In a short span we have saved over 20000 disposables through Bartan Bhandaar.
