BARTAN BHANDAAR

A sustainable crockery bank
Donate

In its initial month, the Foundation introduced a Bartan Bhandaar, or crockery bank, as part of its initiatives. The bank commenced with a collection of 150 sets of high-quality steel thalis (plates with five partitions), spoons, glasses, along with serving bowls, serving spoons, steel buckets for langar, and a tea-canter. These items will be lent free of charge to individuals and organizations for their functions, bhandaaras, and gatherings, with a nominal security deposit kept on a refundable basis for the borrowed crockery. This approach aims to significantly reduce the consumption of disposable items and alleviate the burden on landfill sites caused by plastic and thermocol disposables.
